Life lessons for my 25 year old self

You don’t need to be defined by your ‘profession’ nor your ‘education.’ It is a part of who you are but you are much more than that

Don’t let your environment define you. The values praised in your social circles and society are not necessarily yours

Get comfortable with saying NO:

  • Set default-mode to NO, only say yes when compelling reason exists
  • “The difference between successful people and really successful people is that really successful people say NO to almost everything.” – Warren Buffet

Embrace that you are different from other people.

  • Be a good person, but It does not matter if people like you or not
  • Fitting in is overrated

Sustained continuous fulfillment in life is key to ‘happiness.’ Fulfillment starts from:

  • building self awareness (iterative process) &
  • continues with being your true self

Derive pleasure from

  • Process
  • Journey
  • Thinking

rather than goal / destination / outcome / conclusion

You can do anything you put your mind to

  • you are your own biggest obstacle
  • you are also your own biggest opportunity
  • “Everything you need is already inside.” – William J. Bowerman
